Talk is the quickest way into TimePeace. Say or type something and it goes where it belongs — a diary line, a plan, a to-do — on a card you can undo. It can also find things and take you places, and your voice becomes text on your phone before anything is sent.
Say or type anything and Talk puts it where it belongs. “Called Mum” becomes a diary line, “Dentist on Tuesday at 3” becomes a plan and “Buy milk” becomes a to-do. Ask where something is and it offers to take you there; ask when you last saw someone and it looks through your diary, on your phone.
Each thing Talk files comes back as a card with Undo and Move it, so a wrong guess is one tap to fix. Undo takes it back, and Move it lets you choose where it goes instead. If you have edited it since, Undo keeps the bits you changed.
Out of the box, Talk files diary lines, plans, to-dos, notes, food and workouts and shows you each one, and trips wait for your yes. In Settings, for each kind of thing, you can choose Ask me first, File it and show me or Just do it. Deleting a whole thing always waits for you.
Yes. Under the mic, tap Hands-free and Talk reads its answer out loud, then listens again. Answers are read by a voice built into your phone, and if your phone has none for your language, Talk shows the answer instead.
Only the words you choose to send to Talk, and what was said earlier in that same conversation. Your voice becomes text on your phone first. Your diary and your history are not sent, unless you also turn on Talk’s memory, which is its own separate permission. Talk keeps your chat for 30 days.
Talk has a monthly allowance of 60 answers, and it refreshes on the 1st. Each answer uses one, and Try again and a tapped example count too. You switch Talk on, or off again, in Settings, under Features. Turn it off and nothing is sent after that; what Talk filed stays in your diary.
Talk shows you every card it files, with Undo on each one, and trips wait for your yes. You choose how much it does on its own, and you can switch it off whenever you like.
