TimePeace works with AI assistants that support connectors (also called MCP servers), such as Claude. Connect it once and you can ask your assistant, in plain language, to log a workout or a meal, jot a note, or — if you choose to allow reading — tell you what your week looked like. It's the same private diary; the assistant is just another way in.

The connector is built around one idea: you decide what it can do. Adding to your diary and reading from it are two separate permissions, and you grant them yourself when you connect.

What the connector does

It gives your assistant a set of clearly-labelled tools for your TimePeace diary, split across two permissions you choose at connect time:

Always on · add

Log things to your diary.

The assistant can add a workout, a meal, an appointment or a note. Anything it adds is marked as coming from the assistant, and it can remove only what it added — never your own entries.

Optional · read

Look at your days — only if you allow it.

If you tick the reading permission, the assistant can search and summarise your own entries. Leave it off and the reading tools simply decline; adding still works.

Reading is genuinely separate: it stays off unless you choose it, and you can connect with adding alone. If your diary is sealed with your own encryption, the reading tools honestly say so rather than returning anything — because on our servers there is nothing readable to return.

Setup — connecting it to your assistant

These steps use Claude as the example; other assistants that support custom connectors follow the same shape. You'll need a TimePeace account (free — sign up at timepeaceapp.com) and an assistant that supports connectors.

The connector address

This is the URL you paste into your assistant when it asks for a custom connector:

https://mcp.timepeaceapp.com

It's a remote connector, so there's nothing to download or install — your assistant talks to it over the web.

Step by step

  1. In Claude, open Settings → Connectors (on the web app: your profile menu → Settings → Connectors).
  2. Choose Add custom connector.
  3. Give it any name you like (for example, "TimePeace") and paste the connector address above.
  4. Click Add, then Connect. Your assistant opens TimePeace's sign-in and permission screen.
  5. Sign in to your TimePeace account. If you're already signed in on that device, this is a single tap.
  6. On the permission screen, choose Add only or Add and read. This is where you decide whether the assistant may read your diary; you can change it later by reconnecting. Then click Connect.
  7. You're returned to your assistant with the connector enabled. Try one of the prompts below.

To turn it off, remove the connector in your assistant, or open Settings → Connected apps in TimePeace and disconnect it there. Either one cuts off access straight away; nothing already in your diary is touched.

Usage — what you can ask

Once connected, you talk to your assistant normally and it picks the right tool. A few examples:

Adding (always available)

Log a workout in TimePeace: a 20-minute swim this morning.

Log a meal in TimePeace: a chicken salad for lunch.

Add a note to my TimePeace diary: booked flights for the weekend trip.

Reading (only if you granted the reading permission)

What did I do this past week in TimePeace?

Summarise last Saturday for me.

Search my TimePeace diary for runs.

Tidying up (the assistant only touches what it added)

What have you added to my TimePeace diary?

Remove the swim you just logged.

Turning a confirmation email into a trip

This is the one worth understanding, because it is where an assistant is most useful and most able to get things wrong. If you ask it to put a booking confirmation into TimePeace, it follows a fixed set of rules rather than interpreting the email however it likes.

Here's my flight confirmation — add it to my Lisbon trip in TimePeace.

TimePeace also spots bookings arriving in your own inbox and offers them for you to approve. An assistant writing a booking directly checks what's already on the trip first, so the two don't collide. Either way, everything an assistant changes is listed for you, and you can undo it.

The tools, and how they're labelled

Your assistant shows each tool with a title and marks whether it reads or writes, so you always know what an action will do. Reading tools are marked read-only; adding and removing tools are marked as writing.

The read tools work only when you granted the reading permission and your diary is not sealed with your own encryption. Otherwise they decline plainly and adding continues to work.

Privacy — what the connector can and can't do

The connector is built the same way as the rest of TimePeace: you stay in control of your own diary, and the assistant only ever gets what you deliberately grant it. In plain terms:
